Come build the future of veterinary medicine

Join us for a unique 10-week program that combines innovative companies, veterinary students, and veterinary colleges to accelerate animal health innovation.

WHy Now?

A new era in the veterinary profession is upon us which will unlock a higher level of care than we ever thought possible. Disruptive innovation such as artificial intelligence, genomics, and sensors are transforming the way that we connect, diagnose, treat, and support our patients. We at the VEA are focused on enabling this future for our patients, our clients, and ourselves.

Adam Little DVM delivers his talk at RCVS Day 2016 entitled: 'Digital practice: the shape of veterinary medicine in 2030'

The Backstory

In the Summer of 2016, five Texas A&M students and five organizations sought to change how we educate students and support early-stage innovation. By combining a summer curriculum in entrepreneurship with a practical internship in a startup company, we were able to deliver a unique and impactful program which advanced student learning and accelerated the products and services from some of industry's most promising companies.

As an indirect outcome, students were able to build relationships, clinics gained access to products that can benefit their practices, and companies were able to develop a deeper insight into how and when clinics would use their product.

This summer we are expanding that opportunity across the profession.

Our PARTNERS

Our model is built on the creation of shared value for three key stakeholders:

Vet STudents

Students looking to understand business, technology, and the changing nature of the profession undergo a 10-week online curriculum while working as an intern at one of today’s most innovative animal health companies.

Summer program students, Dr. Adam Little, and Syndaver Cadaver

academic Partners

Academic Institutions looking to support student innovation and entrepreneurship and position themselves as thought leader in the higher veterinary education space.

commercial PArtners

Companies looking to gain deeper insight into the veterinary profession while benefitting from a full-time veterinary-centric resource.

The Academy is designed to empower the next generation of veterinary practitioners with the mindset and skill-set needed to thrive in the changing world of animal health.

We channel the veterinary student’s passion and expertise through a practical hands-on workplace experience with companies who aren’t afraid to challenge the status quo, think differently, and build a better future.

These experiences will build new technologies, unlock new insights, and drive the creation of value across the profession. Thanks to the support from our early adopters like Merck and the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, we’re able to create truly life-changing experiences.
